Malaysia Retain Coach from Indonesia

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) indicated it would retain the old coach composition.

They also no longer consider using the services of foreign coaches for the men's singles sector.

Thus, the position of Rashid Sidek and Tey Seu Bock is still safe. They also maintain Hendrawan as a junior coach. Indonesia coach's contract will expire this December 31.

However, BAM will likely extend his contract two years. In addition to maintaining the old coach and extend the contract, BAM also consider increasing their salaries.

"We're a little late to announce the names of the coaches for the spring we also consider the increase in their salaries. This week, we will announce," said General Manager BAM, Kenny Goh was quoted as saying in the New Straits Times, Tuesday (25/12/2012).

Kenny added the coach a raise based on their previous performance indicators.

Malaysia has made a long-term program of coaching achievements for 2016, 2020 and 2022.

To support this project before they had planned to recruit a coach of South Korea, Park Joo-bong as a technical trainer. However, the plan fell apart because it brings Park's former doubles player on the defensive in the Japanese national team.

In addition to Park, BAM is also rumored to be recruiting former single national training coach from China, Li Mao. However, BAM has confirmed not use his services.
