Stroke can threaten anyone, both men and women that can be triggered by an unhealthy lifestyle. Recent studies show that the risk of stroke in women can be reduced by running fast at least 3.5 hours each week.Physical
activity has been associated with a lower risk of stroke caused by the
accumulation of plaque in the arteries or rupture of blood vessels in
the brain. Health
experts suggest that physical activity and regular moderate intensity
for good health and can keep you from the threat of stroke.
A recent study conducted in Spain showed that the women who run fast with a total time of 3.5 hours or more a week have a lower risk of stroke than women who are not active or intensity of exercise in a shorter time.
The study was led by Jose Maria Huerta of Murcia Regional Health Authority and involving about 33,000 men and women. Participants were asked to answer questionnaires about their physical activity and stratified by gender, type of exercise and the total time spent exercising each week.
Study participants were examined periodically during the 12-year study period to record any symptoms of stroke appear. The result is that roughly 442 people showed signs of a stroke.
Based on these studies also known that active women walking reduced their risk of stroke by 43 percent compared with women who are not active. But do not look similar risk reduction in the group of men.
"The reason why the benefits of walking for stroke is felt more by women than men do not have a clear explanation. Guy might have had a better physical condition than women, but there is no evidence to support these allegations," said Huerta, as reported by FoxNews.
The results were published in the journal Stroke. WHO also recommends women to light exercise such as brisk walking at least 150 minutes or 2.5 hours each week to prevent stroke.
